The SAUWHF adheres to the official International Underwater Hockey Rules & Regulations. The Official Game Rules are available in PDF format and define (with illustrations) a valid goal, the fouls and signals, and the dimensions of the playing area, sticks, and goals.
Why register?
As the National Governing Body for the sport of underwater hockey in South Africa, the SAUWHF’s mission is to promote the growth of underwater hockey in South Africa and to provide the best possible experience for all participants.
SA Underwater Hockey members is incorporated in a club and provincial structure that provides access to facilities, coaching and tournaments. While it may require more administrative effort, registering with SA Hockey provides all of the advantages of an unregistered league while eliminating the disadvantage.
Terms and Conditions
By submitting your personal contact information, you are consenting to its use and processing by the SAUWHF. Data obtained through the registration process will be used to administer your profile and manage our relationship with you.
This includes providing you updates regarding Federation, tournaments and activities and adding you to our Members’ Directory in the private Members’ Community where other SAUWHF members will be able to view your basic profile such as name, club, province and experience. For a returning member, registering as a new member is discouraged as that would result in a new membership record and cause the deletion of your previous record. Click here to renew your membership.

Tournament Temporary Membership
The tournament temporary membership is designed to allow the absolute newcomers of the sport, and those who only want to play on a social level, to participate within the rules and regulations of the sport. These participants, who do not hold a full membership, need to purchase a tournament temporary membership. By purchasing a TTM the player agrees to participate in the event and abide with the rules of the event and those of SAUWHF. The cost of the TTM is R255 and is only valid for the duration of the tournament.
