This has been the first senior competition since 2019 and thanks to Nicole Meadows and DUC it was a great success.
Unfortunately, due to last minute Covid restrictions MORE-SPORT were unable to send their journalists and a team, as well as a number of international players not being able to participate.
This did little to dampen the spirts of the underwater hockey players who were elated to get back into competition mode.
Nine Clubs took part and between them entered 17 teams; 8 in the Open Men, 7 in the Open Ladies and 2 in the Master Men.
The Open Men’s league was divided into a A-and-B League based on the rankings from the previous Inter-Clubs. For the first time the winner of Group B had to play the lowest ranked in Group A to move into the A division in 2022. This added another dimension of excitement to the finals. DUC A played DUC B for this position, with DUC A winning to keep their spot in the A-league for 2022.
So many good memories were made as players reconnected with their fellow underwater hockey ‘family’.
